Cha Shiming

Xiuning, Anhui Province

After graduation, in 1965, from the Hubei Academy of Fine Arts, Cha was assigned to the Hubei Art Institute as a print artist. He became, afterwards, head of the institute's print studio.

The winter setting in Yan'an and the title identify the topic: Zhou Enlai parts from Mao Zedong on his way to Chongqing where he wil represent the Communist army at the wartime capital of the Guomingdang; according to the United Front Agreement of the time, the two rival forces were to cooperate in fignting the Japanese.
