n.d., but 1951 to 1953
Both polychromatic; shuiyin and silver on
Chinese paper
Tang Guangtai, artist
A. Resist America, Support Korea
65.5 x 31.5 cm
The label on the honorary flower of the central
fugure reads, "model peasant," and the boy's scroll
reads, "increase production." The titles reflect
the considerable anxiety in China at the time of
the Korean War (1950-1953) that the United States
army would invade China. The United States led the
United Nations forces that aided South Korea, and
the North Korean army included the Chinese Peoples'
Volunteer Brigade.
